Brethren

I hope all of you are doing well. I’m melting!! Not a fan of the heat 😊

In our last EQ meeting, Bro McCoy gave us a lesson on the importance of unity. He did a wonderful job and has been a great instructor. He got called into the Young Men’s program and we will miss him. This teaching of unity is so important in our marriage, with our kids, family, friends and especially in the church. I know it’s been said in every generation, since the restoration of the church, that we live in tumultuous times. To a certain extent, they and we have based off of the previous generation. Imagine now what we and especially our kids are facing moving forward. We can try it on our own and will most likely fail. We need the strength that comes from being one in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please if you are struggling and have doubts reach out to those around you. Reach out to your ministering brothers, family, and friends. Most importantly reach out to the Savior. He has told us he can make our burdens light. One of my most favorite scriptures is John 16:33:
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
This Sunday we will meet at 10am in the High Council  Room. Please, everyone, come and join us. It’s a wonderful brotherhood. Our discussion this Sunday will be led by Bro Hawks. We will be talking about how we can overcome doubts and strengthen our conversion to the gospel. This is something that has been on my mind a great deal and something I have personally struggled with. Because of the amount of information available on the internet and other sources, it’s easy to find things that test our conversion. Questions come up and answers are not so clear. I 100% agree with President Nelson that we have to figure out a way to have the constant companionship of the Holy ghost as well as a conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If we don’t do this we most likely will fall away. Please take some time before Sunday to ponder and pray about these things so we can edify each other.

A couple other things to keep in mind…

This Saturday we are losing one of the great brothers in our quorum. Bro Steve Trent is moving to Fruita. I have enjoyed getting to know Steve and he has been a wonderful counselor. He as helped me much more than he knows. If any of you are available to help I know he could use it and would greatly appreciate it. The plan is to meet at 9am Saturday morning at Steve’s house 1702 Rood Ave.

Also, remember our next EQ activity. It will be a golf tournament on Saturday, Sept 14th at Adobe Creek Golf Course. I won’t be able to get exact tee times till the Monday of that week but you could plan on starting between 8 - 9am and be done by noon.

Thanks for all your help with ministering and just being good guys. Sure is fun to be with you!

Sam Taylor
EQ President
