Brethren
I hope everything is going well for each of you.
In our last EQ meeting we had a great discussion on how God blesses our lives. Something to keep in mind is that blessings come in all shapes and sizes. They come in ways we might least expect or exactly how we wanted them to. They come in times of good as well as bad. There are blessings we won’t receive in this life and blessings that we can only receive in this life. Some blessings are dependent on us making covenants and then living up to those covenants such as baptism and temple ordinances. Some blessings we may not even realize. I urge you to take some time to think about all the blessings in your life and then let Heavenly Father know how grateful you are for those things. When we look for the good in life we find it and that brings peace and joy!
This Sunday we will meet in the High Council room at 11:30am. We will be led in discussion by Bro Walpole using the talk “The Message, the Meaning, and the Multitude given by Elder Jeffrey R Holland in the last General Conference. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2019/10/11holland?lang=eng . In this talk Elder Holland really emphasizes the importance of making Christ the center of our lives. I absolutely agree with him. In my opinion there is not a more important thing we can do than gain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, then stand as a witness for him to all who we come in contact with. I bear testimony to each of you that Jesus Christ is the son of God. He is the Savior of the world and the redeemer of mankind. There is no other way, than through him, to return to our Heavenly Father. Here is a small portion of his talk to get you excited!!!
Sisters and brothers, through the incessant din and drumbeat of our day, may we strive to see Christ at the center of our lives, of our faith, and of our service. That is where true meaning lies. And if some days our vision is limited or our confidence has waned or our belief is being tested and refined—as surely it will be—may we then cry out the louder, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.”12 I promise with apostolic fervor and prophetic conviction that He will hear you and will say, soon or late, “Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.”13
Please let me know if there is anything we can do for you or any of your ministering families. The new presidency has been working on some things to help with ministering and will be rolling them out soon. Thanks for all you do!
Sam Taylor
EQ President
