Brethren
I hope everyone is staying safe and not going stir crazy during this CRAZY time! 😊
I hope things get back to some sort of normal in the near future. Until then we will endure, right!! As part of that we are working on some sort of way we can keep up with our EQ lessons. Our instructors are working with the RS instructors to come up with a plan for lessons. I will keep you posted on the progress.
I have been attending weekly Ward Council meetings as well as weekly meetings with the Stake Presidency ( OVER ZOOM 😊). I want to share a few things that have come out of those meetings…
First if you know of anyone that is struggling financially, maybe they lost their job, or had hours reduced. Maybe they are struggling with rent or mortgage payments. Maybe they can’t afford food or other essentials. Maybe they have health concerns. Maybe they are too embarrassed to ask for help. Please let them know we can help!! It’s not a slight on them to ask for help! It is the Lords plan for us to help each other and become like our Savior. It has been stated very plainly that all things belong to our Heavenly Father and he expects us to bless the lives of others with the things we are blessed with. I believe completely that each of us need to do everything we can to take care of ourselves and our families, but I do not believe its wrong or demeaning to reach out to those around us in a time of need. I have reached out this week to some brethren to help with some things with my family that I am not able to take care of. It’s hard to do but I appreciate and love those brethren not only for the help but also for the way they helped. There was no condescension or malice toward me. They lovingly gave of their time and ability. This is the attitude we need to have toward all of God’s children.
One of the things we really need to be aware of right now is the Spiritual wellbeing of those we serve. Tragedies and things like this can cause people to question why a loving god could let things like this happen. Especially is they have lost a loved one, or their livelihood. Please be ready to help those who are struggling. Also be ready to answer difficult questions. Get yourselves in a place with your own testimonies where you can bring people to Jesus Christ. He is the center of all we believe. He is the Son of God. He is the one and only one who can bear our burdens. We have to gain a testimony of him before anything else!
We have a couple of service opportunities coming up… That’s code for moves 😊
I am not sure on exact date and time for those but they will be next week or the week after. I will let you know as soon as I can. I completely understand if there are those who would not want to participate because of the virus. We will do our best to make it as safe as possible. You are under no obligation to help if you are concerned. I will not hold it against anyone but also would appreciate anyone that feels like they can help.
Thanks for all you do. I am surprised to say but I really miss our Sunday meetings. I love each and every one of you!! Please let me know if there is anything at all I can do to help.
