Ministering: Focus is on "being" what God wants us to be.

At Leadership meeting held Saturday prior to Stake Conference, Elder Wilford Anderson a General Authority Seventy and Elder Spencer R. Griffin, our Area Authority Seventy delved into some perspectives regarding Ministering. A few take home points:

  • Ministering is a "Holier Way" to care for and love one another.
  • Ministering is a way to help us become the men that God wants us to be!
  • As we lose ourselves in the service of others, we will help move people along the covenant path.
  • The focus is on "being" what God wants us to be, rather than on what “we have to do“ as was the case with Home Teaching.
  • A prime beneficiary of Ministering  will be to the Ministers themselves as they follow Christs example.
  • No one turns away kindness and thoughtfulness although some may have been offended by us working to "count" them as a monthly Home Teaching contact.
  • Again the Ministering emphasis is on us being the kind, living and caring people that God wants us to be. Everything else will follow.
