Weekly Note - Ward Campout, Self Reliance Course, Service!

I hope your summer is going well! How about this heat!!!! I don’t like it 

We have a few things coming up but first I want to give a big thanks to Bro McCoy and Bro Larsen for doing such an incredible job teaching on Sundays. They really know how to make the class informative and worthwhile. I urge all of you to attend not only because it’s a great learning experience but it’s also part our priesthood duty. We meet at 3:15pm in the High Council room at the Stake Center on G road. Everyone is wanted and invited.

Here’s what’s coming up…

Sunday July 15^th – Bro Larsen will be teaching a lesson using President Eyring’s Sunday morning talk “ His Spirit to Be with You”https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2018/04/his-spirit-to-be-with-you?lang=eng

Saturday July 28^th – Service Project removing trees from Sister Grove’s yard. They will be cut down we just need to haul the wood off. If you have a truck or trailer and can help please contact Kevin McCarrel. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Friday August 10 – Saturday August 11 – Ward Campout!!! This is going to be the most fun you’ve had all year! Wait probably not and if it is you may want to evaluate what you do for fun! Lol  It should be a good time. We will be camping at Mud Springs up on Glade Park. You will be on your own for dinner and the Ward will provide breakfast. We will have a short fireside around 9pm. It will be a great opportunity to hang out and chat while the kids run around and get dirty. Everyone is invited so let your wives know, let your neighbors know, your ministering families, and anyone else you want. We hope to see you there even if you don’t stay and camp.

Sunday August 12 6pm – There will be a Self-Reliance course starting. Meet at the Stake Center where you can choose from 4 different categories on self-reliance. You will be put into a group and the course runs for 12 weeks. Everyone I have talked to who has done this has loved it. It doesn’t matter where you are in life, young or old, rich or poor, there’s something for everyone. Please prayerfully consider doing this. I know everyone who participates will be blessed.

Reminder a new quarter has started for Ministering Interviews. Please get signed up on the App http://bookcliffeq.blogspot.com/

Also if you have anything to report on your families don’t wait for the interview. You can use the App, or talk to a member of the presidency. About those interviews please don’t be worried about coming in and visiting. This not an interrogation or to give you a guilt trip. Even if you have never went Home Teaching or Ministering and know nothing about your families that’s fine. This interview is all about how we can get that process started and improve on what you are currently doing. No reporting of numbers or feelings of inadequacy.

Thanks to all of you brethren for all you do. I know the Lord is mindful of us and knows our struggles. The adversary is real and wants us to be unhappy and miserable like him. I urge you to keep the Lord’s commandments, participate in his Church, and love those around you. I promise you will see changes in your life and you will have an abundance of blessings. This he has promised us. I love you all and I’m happy to be serving with you in the Lord’s work.
